Hip hip hooray

As a poor batman of modest means, a new MacBook pro is still out of my budget, so I’m determined to raise the dough by winning some modest poker games. Normally, I consider myself an above average cash- game player, but I’m seeking more tournament experience. I got knocked out on Saturday, my pocket kings against pocket aces, but by will alone I set my mind in motion on Monday night at the park inn casino, & with a 100€ buy- in, I swept the field and walked away with over 1100€. Not too shabby. One or two more good wins like that and I’ll me launching rockets from torstrasse… 3 more wins like that,& I’ll consider hanging up the gitarz and going pro, but let’s not get ahead. Bought a new pokertisch for the bar, and saving the rest fir the mac. & it was a brilliant performance, natch.

As a virtue

My patience is being tried on a daily basis, or nightly I should say. Working & running a bar ain’t always a barrel of monkeys… Actually it is, literally, but that being said, a barrel of monkeys ain’t always a cher of bowlies… U get the drift. I’m ‘that guy’ on the exedrin pm commercial garnering sympathy from viewers for his having to put up with a constant barrage of unwanted input from umpteen billion sources– calgon… Help! I need to find a new mantra. Having young obnoxious dorks at the bar helps me improve my asshole skills & barmafia image, so I just wipe em out with cards instead. Touche’

The Passing of a dear friend

November 9th, 2008 by Fez Wrecker

I just received this news in an e-mail, that a dear friend and colleague of mine, Terrin Durfey recently passed away.  He led a successful battle against melanoma for a long time, but it finally resurfaced and got the best of him.  Actually, anyone who knew him got the best of him, coz he never gave less than his best to everyone.  Terrin & I spent many a day&night together freezing our nuts off in Pine Valley, Borrego, Cuyamaca, Alpine and other various townships all around San Diego county working on film sets & humping furniture.  We also drank, played ball & played music together in various situations.  He wore Chuck Taylor’s at his wedding.

He was a genuine enlightened spirit & he inspired countless people to play music and pursue their art & dreams, and though I haven’t been in touch with him for some years, I’m saddened that he’s left this world, but he’ll surely make the next one better just by being there.

Sleep well, brother.

A glimmer of hope resonates around the world as Obama glides into the drivers seat. I have a feeling the dark cloud over many peoples heads will quickly dissipate, including my own.
